GigNestMel

A capstone product supporting gig workers in Melbourne (Distinction)

GigNestMel was my Monash capstone project (February to July 2025), built by a team of five in an Agile environment. It helps food delivery and ride-share drivers in Melbourne with their day-to-day work and gives them safety and peace of mind. Live site: gignest-mel.pages.dev.

My role

Data Analyst and Engineer, with some wider IT work.

  • Researched candidate datasets against the requirements, then tested them for integrity and usability.
  • Prepared the datasets for use in the product.
  • Ran data quality testing and validation to keep the system reliable.
  • Wrote technical documentation and user guides for the project deliverables.
  • Contributed to front end and back end work, server configuration and SQL optimisation.

Outcome

We delivered features shaped by user and stakeholder requirements, including a map tailored to gig workers, a safety section and a weather section, and presented the work at the capstone showcase. The project earned a Distinction.

Stack
